Kat Hernden

Artist member since 2019
Kitchener, Ontario

Kat Hernden is an emerging artist from the Kitchener Waterloo area. Like the lyrics to your favourite song, her powerful, made-you-look images distill the world's complexities into their most simple shapes and form. Adding thread to the canvas was a natural progression for Kat as she has been prolific in the needle arts (knitting, crochet, crewel work, needlepoint, etc.) since childhood. Kat's unending attention to detail is present in all of her works, and her bold and unique style resonates with the viewer long after their departure.

Kat studied Semiotics, Media Analysis and Communications at the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Art District Gallery where she shows new work every six weeks. She is also a member of Art$pay and Button Factory Arts. Kat currently lives, mothers, teaches and creates in Downtown Kitchener.
